How Long Will You Have To Wear Invisalign?

Posted on 2/20/2023 by Dr. Janice Pliszczak
For those wishing to straighten teeth without having to face the discomfort and conspicuousness of traditional metal braces, Invisalign trays are a good bet. Invisalign braces are a type of clear aligner. Therefore, they are nearly invisible. When placed, they straighten the teeth little by little. Also, you can take them out. Since you can remove them, you should have the willpower and commitment to put them on consistently. How Long to Put on Invisalign Daily? Typically, you have to put on these restorations for no less than 20 hours daily. You must have them on for 20 to 22 hours and nothing short of that. If you don't wear them for that duration, your teeth will not shift according to the set schedule. Although you might have some slight discomfort the moment you get your first trays placed on your teeth, you have to continue putting them on as the dentist instructs. If not, you will not make good progress in straightening your teeth. How Long Does the Treatment Last? Once you have signed on for Invisalign, the treatment could take longer or shorter. On average, you can expect to have the treatment complete between 12 and 18 months. Sometimes, it can go up to 24 months. Comparing this duration to that of traditional braces, you find that Invisalign, in some cases, may work faster. Traditional metal braces can last up to 36 months to see results. Even so, some individuals can still have their teeth straightened in as little as 12 months. Can you Eat with Invisalign On? Well, you cannot eat with Invisalign put on. Invisalign aligners are crafted to be taken out whenever you are eating and cleansing them. So, you will enjoy the foods you want even the hard, crunchy, and chewy ones, unlike the case of metal braces which are fixed in the mouth. Visit our dental clinic if you want Invisalign treatment. We will see if your malocclusion or alignment issues can be resolved with these aligner trays....
