Oral cancer compromises 85% of all the head and neck related cancers. 90% of oral cancers are squamous cell carcinomas. Oral cancers frequently present themselves with no pain or symptoms.

Cancer occurs when normal cells begin to grow uncontrollably and begin to invade neighboring tissue that then become damaged. Oral cancer includes cancers of the lips, tongue, cheeks, floor of the mouth, hard and soft palate, sinuses, and in the pharynx (throat). This form of cancer can be life threatening if not diagnosed and treated early.
